How To Apply
ELIGIBILITY
Any composer is eligible to apply.

APPLICATION MATERIALS
Through the online application form, composers should submit a permanent link
to one (preferably Dropbox or Google Drive) folder, which should contain the following:
Notes on the application submission:
--> At least one recording is required.
--> Midi recordings will not be acceptable.
--> All recordings should strictly be in MP3 format.
--> Submitted works could be of any instrumentation.
--> For Category A applicants: At least one work with electronics is required.
--> Make sure the link to your folder is permanent and accessible to anyone. Entries with expired or non-functional links will be automatically rejected.

NOTIFICATION
Selected applicants will be notified by the end of January 2022.

4. Receipt of payment of 12€ application fee (.pdf)
PREFERRED CATEGORY
In the application form, the applicant will be asked to choose the category
[Category A: Mixed Media or Category B: Acoustic]*
for which they are applying.
*If the applicant wishes to apply for both categories, they will need to submit two separate applications,
submitting the application fee twice.

FULLY ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS

All Fully Active participants get:
-
3 rehearsals of 1-hour each + dress rehearsal of the new work
-
premiere of the new work in one of the two final concerts
-
recording and video of both the dress rehearsal and concert performance of the new work (by the end of August 2022)
-
1.5-hour private lesson with each one of the tutors
-
1-hour presentation of their compositional work
-
attendance in all the events of the academy
Details of the new works:
-Score and parts must be submitted via email by May 15, 2022.
-The duration should strictly not exceed 8'.
-Upon acceptance, the selected composers will be asked to send three different instrumental line-ups, for which they would be interested in writing.
Course Fee:
400€
The fee should be paid in two portions:
- €250, after the notification of acceptance.
(further instructions will be provided via email)
- €150, with the submission of the new work, on May 15, 2022.
* Course Fees do not go towards the coverage of any accommodation, board, or travel expenses of the participant.
** All fees are non-refundable.
PARTIALLY ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS

After the selection of the 12 Fully Active participants, the selection committee will give the opportunity to 4 composers to attend the academy as Partially Active participants, who will be asked to write a 2-to-3 minute piece to be read by ensemble Suono Giallo.
All Partially Active participants get:
-
1-hour reading session of a 2-to-3 minute piece by Suono Giallo
-
zoom recording of the reading session
-
1.5-hour private lesson with each one of the tutors
-
attendance in all the events of the academy
Details of the new works to be read:
-Score and parts must be submitted via email by June 25, 2022.
-The duration should be strictly 2'-3'.
-Upon acceptance, the selected composers will be asked to send the instrumental line-up, for which they would be interested in writing.

The fee should be fully paid after the notification of acceptance.

Smaller instruments (e.g. triangle, tambourine, claves, maracas) might be available,
however their inclusion in the percussion part must be decided in advance in communication with our percussionist.

Stage Set-Up*:

*For the best possible recording conditions, the position of the instrumentalists is to remain fixed for all the pieces as shown above. No requests for stage rearrangements will be accepted and, consequently, any movement of the performers during the pieces will not be possible whatsoever.

Additional Information
ACCOMMODATION & EXPENSES
The organization will not cover accommodation, board, or travel expenses.
The organization will arrange for participant accommodations in rooms/apartments
at a cost of €20-€35 per night, per person.
Participants will have the option to share apartments with up to five other participants.

The lessons, masterclasses, presentations and rehearsals take place at:
